MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's and women's swimming and diving teams welcome Minnesota to their home opener dual meet on Friday. The 16th-ranked Badger women face off against the 25th-ranked Golden Gophers while the 20th-ranked UW men's team faces No. 25 Minnesota. Events start at 4 p.m. from the Soderholm Family Aquatic Center. Admission is free.

Here are five things to know about this Friday.
1. BADGERS OFF TO HOT START: After traveling to Arizona for two duals, the Badgers proved their competitiveness after the No.16 women's team went 2-0 versus Arizona and Arizona State. For the men, the No. 20 men's team went 1-1 after defeating Arizona and then falling to No.5 Arizona State. Both teams face another ranked team as No.25 Minnesota Gophers comes to Madison.
2. SIZZLIN' BACON: After coming off three wins against Arizona and four victories against Arizona State, junior
Phoebe Bacon looks to keep her streak alive in the Badger's Big Ten debut on Friday. Bacon won her signature events - the 100 back and 200 back - against the Sun Devils after claiming the 200 free and 100 fly against the Wildcats. The two-time reigning Big Ten champion 100 and 200 backstroke, Bacon is off to a sizzling start to her season.

3. NEW(MARK) OPPORTUNITIES: Junior
Jake Newmark is also coming off an impressive weekend, winning three of the four events he competed in. Newmark touched the wall first in the the 500 free against Arizona and Arizona State, and won the 1000 free with a personal best time of 9:17.09. The reigning Big Ten champion in the 500 free, Newmark looks to continue his success against the Golden Gophers.
4. DIVING IN: Junior
Daniel Muller enters the weekend with two wins under his belt after winning the 1-meter with 319.80 points and the 3-meter with 332.48 points against No. 5 Arizona State. Senior
Kit Greenberg continued the success on the women's side with two wins of her own. Greenberg won the 1-meter with 251.70 points and the 3-meter with 284.18 points against Arizona State.
