Before the game, here is the Starting Five:

.) UW Advances: Johnny Davis led all scorers with 25 points as Wisconsin beat Colgate to punch its ticket to the second round of the NCAA tournament. Over the final 10:32 of Friday night's game, the Badgers limited the Raiders to just two field goals on 2-for-11 shooting (18.2%).

.) Tourney Success: Wisconsin has now won 12 of its last 14 opening-round games in the NCAA tournament. The program's 15 tourney wins since 2014 are tied for the seventh-highest total among Division I schools and ranks second in the Big Ten to Michigan (17). The Badgers hold a 10-0 all-time record against teams seeded 13th and lower in NCAA tournament play.

.) Staying Alert: Wisconsin only turned over ball five times against Colgate – the second-lowest total this season and tied for the second-lowest total in an NCAA tournament game in school history. UW leads the nation with the least turnovers per game averaging just 8.4 per contest.

.) Badgers/Cyclones History: Wisconsin and Iowa State have not met since 1981. The Cyclones hold a 5-3 advantage in the all-time series with UW. The Badgers are 3-2 all-time against Big 12 teams in the NCAA tournament.
