
Pair of Badgers look to go in the NHL draft this week

Lucius, Jugnauth listed among NHL Central Scouting’s draft prospects
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin men's hockey has seen at least one of its players drafted every year since 1997 and that streak looks like it will continue this week when a pair of incoming freshmen await to hear their names called in Montreal at the 2022 NHL Draft.
Forward Cruz Lucius (Grant, Minnesota) and defenseman Tyson Jugnauth (Kelowna, British Columbia) are both ranked by NHL Central Scouting and listed in mock drafts as potential selections.

Lucius, a forward, helped Team USA to silver at this spring's 2022 IIHF Under-18 World Championship, where he scored a pair of goals and eight points. He spent the past two years as part of the U.S. National Team Develop Program, though missed a portion of this past season with the under-18 team due to injury.
Jugnauth, a defenseman, won the 2021-22 BCHL Top Defenceman after posting nine goals and 50 points from the blue line for the West Kelowna Warriors. He was also a 2022 BCHL First-Team All-Star. (BCHL.ca: NHL Draft Profile). Â
