Badgers tie for fourth at home invitational

MADISON, Wis. - Moving up three places in the final round of the 2022 Badger Invitational, Wisconsin tied for fourth in their annual home invitational. The Badgers were led by senior Emily Lauterbach who carded a 217 (+1) to T12.
Nebraska won the invitational with a score of 863 (-1), which was 11 strokes ahead of Notre Dame and Old Dominion who tied for second. Rutgers' Leigha Devine and Notre Dame's Montgomery Ferreira topped the leaderboard for the invitational, both shooting a seven below par.Â
Moving up 11 spots in the leaderboard to tie for 12th, Emily Lauterbach led the Badgers shooting a 70 (-2) in the third round, ending the tournament one above par (71+76+70=217). Vanessa Ho (75+73+72=220) and Chloe Chan (74+72+74=220) trailed not far behind to T19, ending the three rounds four above par. Freshman Alexia Siehl (76+72+73=221) completed her first ever Badger Invitational five above par to T24. Gia Feliciano rounded out the team lineup T48 (79+74+76=229, +13).Â
Badgers competing individually were led by Camille Kuznik who tied for 24th after shooting a 221 (75+70+76) to end five above par. Fellow sophomore Carly Carter shot eight above par (78+70+76=224) to T34, improving her score from the 2021 Badger Invitational by 12 strokes. Not far behind with a +9 (75+76+74=225) was Nicole Ciskowski who T37. Yongze Cheng finished her first home invitational T66 with a 239 (76+80+83) to place her at 23 above par.Â
Chloe Chan and Alexia Siehl both shot a 72 (E) to lead the team, both ranking in the top 30 of golfers. Also in the top 30 at T27 was Vanessa Ho who shot a 73 (+1). Not far behind was Gia Feliciano with a 74 (+2) and an eagle, who improved her score by five strokes between the two rounds, moving her ranking up 10 spots to T49. Rounding out the lineup for the day was Emily Lauterbach shooting a 76 (+4), ending the day T-23.Â
Competing as individuals, Carly Carter and Camille Kuznik shot a 70 (-2), both improving their scores from day one. Carter improved by eight strokes moving her ranking up 28 spots to T27 while Kuznik improved by five, moving her up 15 spots to T14. Nicole Ciskowski completed the round with a 76 (+4) at T40 and Yongze Cheng scored a 80 (+8) at T60.Â

Rounding out the lineup for the Badgers was Gia Feliciano, who shot a 79 (+7) to T-59.Â
Competing as individuals, Nicole Ciskowski and Camille Kuznik both shot a 75 (+3), ending the day T-29. Freshman Yongze Cheng carded a 76 (+4) to T-37 in what was both her first collegiate tournament and first home invitational. Carly Carter completed the round with a 78 (+6) to T-55.

The Badgers improved their round two score by five strokes, carding a 291 (+3). After the second round, the Badgers remain in seventh place (587 (+11)) in the team standings. Notre Dame has retained the overall team lead with 284-287=571 (-5), followed by Nebraska in second place (575, -3) and Old Dominion (581, +5) in third.Chloe Chan and Alexia Siehl both shot a 72 (E) to lead the team, both ranking in the top 30 of golfers. Also in the top 30 at T27 was Vanessa Ho who shot a 73 (+1). Not far behind was Gia Feliciano with a 74 (+2) and an eagle, who improved her score by five strokes between the two rounds, moving her ranking up 10 spots to T49. Rounding out the lineup for the day was Emily Lauterbach shooting a 76 (+4), ending the day T-23.Â
