Heartbreak in Kalamazoo

Badgers score in first half, give up two in last five minutes to fall
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Wisconsin's 13th-minute goal nearly held for the game, but a pair of Western Michigan goals in the final four minutes and one second of play handed the UW men's soccer team a 2-1 road defeat on Monday. The final heartbreak came when the Broncos tallied the winner with one second remaining on the clock.
The Badgers took advantage on an opportunity in the 13th minute when junior Tim Bielic controlled the ball  above the top of the box and then one-touch passing from Ignasi Marques and Jack Finnegan put goal-scorer Aron Saevarsson in scoring position along the goal line.
Saevarsson's shot powered past the goal keeper for UW's 1-0 lead. It also marked his first goal as a Badger.

The Badgers defended well throughout, despite a possession edge by the Broncos, limiting dangerous scoring opportunities. It was a loose ball in the box that finally cost the Badgers with 4:01 to play, when WMU's Dylan Sing picked it up and fired it under the bar.
A diving stop by Badger goalkeeper Carter Abbott in the 88th minute kept things tied, but after a Badger clear with 10 seconds left, WMU turned a throw in into a cross and found Jonathon Robinson free on the far side for the goal for the finish before time expired.
