Four UW boats row to top-three finishes
SARASOTA, Fla. — The Wisconsin women's rowing team continued to show off its improvement on the water with four top-three finishes at the opening day of the Sunshine State Regatta on Friday.
The Badgers' varsity four earned their first win of the season, outpacing their opponents by more than five seconds. The varsity eight and second varsity four boats rowed to second-place finishes and the second varsity eight beat out four teams to come in third.
In addition to squaring off with Big Ten competition, the Badgers faced off with teams mostly from the Southeast and Great Plains regions.

On the first day
"Today we were really pretty happy with the step up in racing from what we were able to a couple of weeks ago. Again, with only a couple of rows, I think the team responded really positively. We learned a lot today and are really looking forward to not only getting faster but also going for the win. That's our goal, that's what we're going to be racing for, and we'll see what happens."
Up Next: The Badgers close out the Sunshine State Regatta on Saturday, April 1.
