EUGENE, Ore. — The Wisconsin women's rowing team got a chance to show its speed against Big Ten and Pac 12 competition on Dexter Lake on Saturday.

Racing at the Big Ten-Pac 12 Dexter Lake Invite closed out the regular season for the Badgers.

The second varsity eight took home a fourth-place finish in both their races, beating out UCF, Gonzaga, Minnesota and Loyola Marymount for UW's top finishes of the day.

"We had a pretty rough day today. Certainly not a lack of effort. Certainly not a lack of training and preparation. We just really couldn't find our rhythm and we didn't go quite as fast as we were hoping to go. Competitive races for sure. Really great competition. 

"Super shoutout to Kate Maxim and her staff at Oregon State for putting on a great regatta." 

"We are going to get ourselves back home and spend the next two weeks finding more speed and finding more confidence and having a whole lot of fun doing that."

The Badgers begin post season racing on May 14 at the Big Ten Championship in Indianapolis.
