
Wisconsin Football : 2023 NFL Draft
Three former Wisconsin Badgers heard their names called in the 2023 NFL Draft, marking the next step of their football careers. OL Joe Tippmann, DL Keeanu Benton and LB Nick Herbig were all selected within the first four rounds of the draft. Tippmann, selected by the Jets with the 43rd overall pick, was the first center drafted. Benton (49th overall) and Herbig (132nd overall) were both picked by the Pittsburgh Steelers and will join a crop of former Badgers that includes Isaiahh Loudermilk, Scott Nelson and T.J. Watt,
The Badgers have now had multiple players selected in 16 straight drafts, the 8th longest streak in the nation. With Tippmann's selection, Wisconsin has now had 25 offensive linemen drafted since 2000, the third most in the country.
