MADISON, Wis. – Two Wisconsin women's soccer athletes have earned the first Big Ten Honors of the 2023 season.
Ella Ottey was pinned as the Big Ten Freshman of the Week following her first two games as a Badger. Ottey clinched the game-winning goal in the first half of Sunday's 1-0 win against UIC. The Freshman defender has suited up as a starter for the two matches completed this season and has a shots-on-goal percentage of .750.
Erin McKinney claimed her second-career Big Ten Goaltender of the Week honor following her two shutouts. Her first Big Ten honor came last season. McKinney has been in net for 180 minutes so far, has made six saves, and faced ten shots on net. Five of the saves came against the 0-0 draw against Kansas. With the two shutouts, McKinney is tied for first in the Nation for shutouts and save percentage.
