ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Wisconsin women's swim and dive team completed the first day of their tri-meet against Michigan and Notre Dame with two first-place finishes on Friday evening.

Sophomore Maddie Waggoner secured first place in the 1000 freestyle for a second straight meet, finishing with a time of 9:54.36.

Phoebe Bacon won the 200 backstroke, putting up a time of 1:55.61. Her teammate, Maggie Wanezek, finished just behind her, with a time of 1:56.54.

Bacon finished second in the 100 butterfly as well, finishing just three tenths of a second behind the first-place finisher.

The 400 medley relay consisting of Wanezek, Hazal Ozkan, Bacon, and Abby Carlson performed the best of any relay team for the day, finishing in second with a time of 3:36.66.
