Quick Kicks: Badgers host Wolverines for regular season finale

Wisconsin to see one last game at home

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's soccer team will play their final game of the regular season at home against the Michigan Wolverines on Sunday, Oct 27. Kickoff is set 1:00 p.m. (CT).

Here are five things to know:

1. SCOUTING THE WOLVERINES: The Badgers last faced the Wolverines in the 2021 campaign, where they tied 0-0. Wisconsin carries a 8-11-6 record against Michigan. The Wolverines are ranked at 14th in Big Ten standings with 7 points, holding a 2-7-1 record in conference play. Michigan is coming off a 2-0 win over Purdue in their last home game of the season.

2. LAST TIME OUT: The Wisconsin women's soccer team trampled the Maryland Terrapins in a 5-0 victory.

Each goal was scored by a different player including freshman Jenna Baumann. This was her first career goal scored with three seconds left on the clock.

Drew Stover earned her sixth clean sheet of the season after facing three shots, none being on goal, thanks to the impenetrable back line.

Wisconsin had the statistical advantage leading in shots (19-3), shots-on-goal (7-0), and corners (6-1).  The last time the Badgers scored five or more goals was in Sept. 2022 with a dominant 5-2 win over Purdue and last time the team had a 5-0 shutout was against Eastern Illinois in Aug. 2021.

3. PLAYOFF PREDICTIONS: With fifteen points the Badgers are projected to make the Big Ten Tournament. The fist and second round of tournament play will be held on the campus of Minnesota in Minneapolis from Oct. 31 to Nov 3.
