INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Wisconsin posted an all-time high overall Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 94 percent, marking the seventh consecutive year the Badgers have scored 90 percent of higher. UW's GSR was tied for the fourth-highest in the Big Ten and 17th among Power 4 schools.

A total of 15 Badger programs scored 90-or-better, with nine earning perfect 100s to lead the Big Ten in their respective sport in 2023-24 GSR figures, which were released by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) on Wednesday. Eight of Wisconsin's 10 women's sports programs posted perfect scores. Wisconsin was one of five Big Ten programs to collect nine or more perfect scores.

The GSR measures graduation rates at Division I institutions. GSR is believed to be a more accurate measure of academic performance in athletics departments as it holds schools responsible for student-athletes transferring into the institutions and allows them to subtract student-athletes who leave their institutions prior to graduation but are otherwise academically eligible to compete. 

The average GSR for all NCAA Division I student-athletes is 91. This year's GSR spans the period covering student-athletes who enrolled at the University during 2014-17.

• 2024 marked the 7th-consecutive year that Wisconsin has posted a 90% GSR or higher
• Football's 91% GSR matches the program's highest ever
• Football is tied for 2nd in Big Ten, trailing only NW (99) and equaling Michigan (91) and 16th nationally
• Women's basketball collected a perfect score for the 10th-straight year
• Both volleyball and women's swimming and diving posted a perfect score of 100 for the 8th-straight year
• Women's tennis posted a perfect score for the 7th-straight season
• Softball has collected a perfect score in 6-consecutive seasons
• Men's tennis and women's soccer have posted a perfect 100 in 5-straight seasons
• Women's rowing posted its first perfect score since 2006
