MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's soccer team will head west to continue conference play against the UCLA Bruins on Thursday, Sept. 26, and USC on Sunday, Sept. 29. Game times are 9:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Here are five things to know:
1. SCOUTING THE BRUINS: The Badgers last saw action against the Bruins in the 2019 season in the NCAA Sweet 16. UCLA shutout Wisconsin 2-0.
Although the Bruins have only visited Madison once, they own the all-time series posting a 6-0-0 advantage. The Bruins are currently undefeated in Big Ten play taking down Oregon, Indiana, and Purdue, and have only allowed one goal in conference play so far.
The Bruins average 1.27 goals a game with a .449 shots-on-goal percentage.
2. SCOUTING THE TROJANS: The Badgers last faced the Trojans in 2002 in California. The Badgers claimed the 1-0 victory.
The Trojans are currently undefeated in conference play, mostly recently blanking Indiana, 2-0. Goalie Laurence Gladu made three saves and earned her fifth shutout of the season.
3. LAST TIME OUT: The Wisconsin women's soccer team claimed its 500th program win with a 1-0 victory over a previously undefeated Minnesota.
Peighton Steffen earned her first goal of the season in the 15th minute off an assist from Erin Connolly. Drew Stover had back-to-back saves in the second half of the game, earning her third clean sheet of the season.
