MADISON, Wis. — After a little over a month off, the men's and women's Wisconsin swim and dive teams will return to action this weekend. The Badgers will take on UC San Diego, UCLA and UNLV on Saturday in La Jolla, Calif. 

Before the Badgers dive in, here are five things to know:

1. LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers concluded the fall season as the swimmers competed at the Texas Invite and the divers at the Georgia Invite at the end of November. The men picked up 17 NCAA "B" cuts, while the women picked up four "A" cuts and broke the school record in the 200 Medley Relay. 

2. HOLDING STEADY: In the latest CSCAA poll in the month of December, the Badgers had small shifts after a month off from action. The women sit at No. 12, dropping down two spots from their place at No. 10. The men check in at No. 18, falling four spots from No. 14. The women hold a 2-0 record, while the men hold a 2-1 record.

3. BADGERS WORLDWIDE: Over the break, freshman diver Jaden Eikermann and fifth year Phoebe Bacon made waves on the international stage. The Germany native earned a German National Title and claimed the UW school record in the 10m platform. While Bacon earned two gold medals for the Team USA at the World Aquatics Swimming Championships in Budapest, one in the 4x200 Free Relay and one in the 4x100 Free Relay. Bacon also finished in fourth and earned a personal best in the 200 back. 

4. LOOKING AHEAD: After the meet in California, the Badgers will return to Madison for Senior Day on January 18 vs Northwestern. The following week, Wisconsin will travel to South Bend, Ind. for the Tim Welsh Classic. The regular season will wrap up at home for the Badger Invitational on Feb. 7-8.
