BOSTON – The Wisconsin women's rowing team continued its fall season at the Head of the Charles regatta on Sunday.
The Badgers competed against some of the top rowers in the nation on the three-mile Charles River course. The Wisconsin women's championship four placed 13th in its boat class with a time of 18:12.529.
The New York AC team took the top spot, completing the course in 16:50.690, followed by Virginia in second (17:14.125) and Penn in third (17:26.323).
UW alumni got to join in the fun as well, with former Badgers putting together a star-studded boat in the women's alumnae eight on Saturday. The alumnae eight came in 4th with a time of 16:26.648.Â
The Badger alumnae eight included Olympian and current Badger Head Coach Vicky Opitz and coxswain Yasmin Farooq (current Washington head coach and Olympian), as well as Olympians Maddie Wanamaker and Lauren O'Connor. Current Washington Head Novice Coach Allie Lohrenz, former All-American rower Lexi Siverling and 2018 CRCA National Scholar Athlete Lisbet Pietz were also part of the crew, and recent graduates Oona Zilavy ('25) and lightweight All-American Falcon Jaacks (lightweight, '24).
