
Volleyball adds Travis and Hoppe

Badgers add a pair to 2026 roster
MADISON, Wis. - Head coach Kelly Sheffield of the Wisconsin volleyball program has announced the signing of outside hitter Eva Travis from UC Santa Barbara and setter Isabelle Hoppe from Pine-Richland High School in Gibsonia, Pa. Both Travis and Hoppe will arrive for spring semester of 2026.
The incoming redshirt sophomore, Eva Travis (pronounced Ava), put together another strong season for the Gauchos, coming off of a Big West Freshman of the Year award in 2024. Travis concluded the 2025 season with All-Big West Second Team honors and an Honorable Mention All-Pacific Region Team award—leading UC Santa Barbara to a 23-9 record.Â
"Eva is an explosive athlete with a canon for an arm," said head coach Kelly Sheffield. "She is a dynamic blocker and attacker and hits with a lot of range."
The 5-foot-11 outside hitter averaged 3.93 kills per set and 1.75 digs per set during the 2025 season. Travis played in 26 matches for the Gauchos and averaged 4.42 points per set in the process. The Aliso Viejo, California, native finished the year in second in the Big West in kills per set and points per set.
In addition to Travis, the Badgers add setter Isabelle Hoppe who will come in as part of the class of 2026 with Audrey Flanagan, Kymora Scott, Lynney Tarnow, and Halle Thompson. Travis comes to Wisconsin after flipping her decision from Pitt.
"I'm very excited to announce Isabelle," added Sheffield. "She is a fantastic athlete who does a great job of putting hitters in great positions."
The 5-foot-8 setter is the second ranked setter in the nation according to Prep Dig, coming in nationally at No. 21 and No. 7 overall according to Prep Volleyball. She is a Volleymag.com First Team All-American and Under Armour All-American. Like Flanagan, Tarnow and Thompson, Hoppe is part fo the USA Volleyball pipeline and was a member of the 2024 USA U19 Continental Championship Team and 2025 USA U19 World Championship Team.
