
Mahrt inks deal with Orlando Pride

Badgers’ leading scorer joins NWSL club on short-term contract
ORLANDO, Fla. – Wisconsin women's soccer standout and leading goal scorer Aryssa Mahrt has signed a short-term contract with the Orlando Pride of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).
The Orlando Pride officially announced Mahrt's signing on Tuesday alongside goalkeeper DeAira Jackson.

Both players bring unique qualities that will enhance our roster during this period," said VP of Soccer Operations and Sporting Director Haley Carter. "Aryssa's technical ability and vision give us additional options in the final third. These signings reflect our commitment to maintaining a competitive roster while providing opportunities for talented young players to showcase and develop their abilities at the professional level."
Mahrt, who played a key role for the Badgers in 2024, started all 21 matches, recording over 1,600 minutes on the pitch. She led the team with 10 goals and added four assists, including a two-goal performance in a 3-0 victory over Loyola Chicago. She also netted the game-winning goal in the season opener against UConn and recorded a season-high five shots on goal against Milwaukee.
Mahrt ranked in the top 10 in the Big Ten in both goals (10) and shots on target (39) this past season. Over her three-year career with Wisconsin, she appeared in 62 matches, totaling 21 goals and 15 assists for 57 points.
