Wisconsin posts series of personal records at Indiana Invitational

Perkins climbs to No. 5 in program history with a 41-1 breakthrough in the triple jump
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Wisconsin women's track and field team wrapped up action at the Indiana Invitational on Saturday as several Badgers enjoyed personal-best performances.Â
Junior Elissa Perkins earned a mark of 41 feet, 1 inch (12.52m) in the triple jump to finish second in the event. That ranks No. 5 on the Wisconsin indoor top-ten list. Perkins surpassed her previous mark of 40-6 (12.34m), which ranked ninth in school history.Â
Sara Mlodik kept the momentum going, running her personal best in the mile. She crossed the finish line in 4:53.71 to take ninth. Â
The strong performances continued in the sprints, where Wisconsin's Sydey Robinson led the way by winning the 300 meters for the Badgers and placing 12th overall with a personal best pof 40.86. Catalina Sanchious followed in 15th, and Luciana Azipurua added another personal record to the day's tally, finishing in 42.37.Â
Bella Jacobsen won the 3000 meters with a time of 9:33.33. Miakela Helling finished in third place, running her personal-best in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:43.78.
UP NEXT: Next weekend, the Badgers will have a pair of meets, one in Philadelphia, Pa., the Penn Elite, and on in Champaign, Ill., the Fighting Illini Challenge. Both meets will be three days, starting on Thursday Jan. 22 and going through Saturday Jan. 24.
