Wisconsin drops road match, 26-10

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Wisconsin wrestling fell 26-10 to Minnesota on the road Saturday afternoon at Maturi Pavilion in Big Ten action. This marks only the second loss of the season for the Badgers.

The dual opened at 197 pounds, where Minnesota earned the opening points. Wisconsin answered at heavyweight. Braxton Amos put the Badgers on the board with a decision over No. 10 Koy Hopke, 2-0.

At 133 pounds, Zan Fugitt kept Wisconsin moving, coming away with a major decision over Brandon Morvari. Minnesota responded in the following bout, but Joseph Zargo answered back for the Badgers with a decision over Drew Roberts at 149 pounds to keep the dual within reach.

Minnesota pulled away from there, picking up wins in the remaining bouts to close out the dual.
