Wisconsin to race at Eastern Michigan
MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin women's rowing team will travel to Eastern Michigan University to race the Eagles on Saturday, Oct. 10.
As the team preps for the race, here are f(oar) things to know:
1. WHAT TO KNOW: The Badgers and Eagles have faced each other four times since the 2020-21 season, all on Lake Mendota. The upcoming race marks the first time in any recent history that Wisconsin will travel to Eastern Michigan for competition.
Eastern Michigan returns four seniors to the team and a large freshman class. Kemp Savage leads the Eagles in his 14th year as head rowing coach.
2. LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers opened their fall competition at the Milwaukee River Challenge last week. Wisconsin boat F earned third place and boat B placed fifth in the women's open fours. In the women's open eights, boat B took third place and boat D fourth.
Hannah Harris coxed the third-place boat F with a time of 19:04.007 in the women's open fours. Boat B coxed by Téa Cotronis recorded a time of 19:11.259.
In the women's open eights, Cassidy Bradley led boat B to third place recording a time of 18:01.371. Addison Bauer coxed boat D to fourth place with a time of 18:11.806.
3. FOLLOW ALONG: Race results will be available on uwbadgers.com following the competition as well as the women's rowing Instagram and X pages.
4. UP NEXT: The team will continue out East and race at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston on Sunday, Oct. 18. To finish the fall season, the Badgers will race Minnesota on Lake Mendota on Saturday, Oct. 31.
