
Badgers sweep Big Ten weekly awards

Wanezek, Corrigan and Neal collect Big Ten honors
MADISON, Wis. — Maggie Wanezek, Brooke Corrigan and Ryane Neal of the Wisconsin women's swim and dive team received Big Ten Weekly Awards following their performances at the Badger Invitational, as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon.
Wanezek highlighted competition with a pool record in the 200 back, finishing in 1:49.47. The sophomore also set three personal bests on the weekend and earned two NCAA cuts in the 50 and 100 free. Wanezek also led off in the 200 medley relay in 23.71 and swam a 21.85 split in the 200 free relay to help both teams to first place finishes. This marks the Badgers' second award this season and fifth of her career.
Corrigan collected Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors following her performance at the Badger Invitational. The Freshman set two personal bests, swimming a 2:07.97 in the 200 breast and a 59.71 in the 100 breast. Corrigan also swam a 23.01 split in the 200 free relay and a 50.28 split in the 400 free relay to help both teams to second place finishes. Her 27.17 split in the breaststroke leg of the 200 medley relay helped the team to a second place finish.
Neal led Wisconsin with three first-place finishes at the Badger Invitational, setting two second-best all-time scores at UW. The junior notched a personal best 308.33 points on the 1-meter, a personal best 337.43 points on the 3-meter and collected 282.65 points on the platform. This marks Neal's second weekly honor this season.
Looking ahead, the Badgers kick off the Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Feb. 18-21.
