
Badgers Post Strong Performances on Final Day at USC

Relay squad climbs record books as Langseth, Lucas lead in the field
LOS ANGELES – The Wisconsin women's track and field team delivered a solid day of competition at the USC Trojan Invite, highlighted by record book moves in the relays and throws.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Luciana Aizpurua, Rachel Robinson, Sydney Robinson and Catalina Sanchious placed fifth in 45.93, moving up from No. 9 to No. 7 in the Wisconsin record books. The same quartet followed up in the 4x400-meter relay, earning another fifth-place finish, crossing the line in 4:08.73.
In the circle, Danni Langseth recorded a runner-up finish in the shot put with a throw of 55 feet, 6 ¼ inches(16.92m), improving her standing to No. 6 all-time at Wisconsin. Hadley Lucas followed closing in third with a mark of 51-0 ¼ (15.55m), moving into No. 10 in program history, while Zonica Lindeque placed 10th with a throw of 44-1 ½ (13.45m). Perkins led the way in the horizontal jumps, placing 10th in the long jump with a mark of 19-4 ¾ (5.91m) and sixth in the triple jump at 40-6 ¼ (12.35m).
In the 100 meters, Aizpurua led the Badgers with a seventh-place finish in 11.83, followed by Rachel Robinson in 12th with a time of 11.98. Sydney Robinson and Sanchious took 15th and 16th respectively, with times of 12.14 and 12.19. Sydney Robinson doubled back to lead the Badgers in the 200 meters, placing 11th in 24.38, while Aizpurua took 14th in 24.96, Sanchious took 16th in 25.23, and Shaina Zinter took 17th in 25.25. Rachel Robinson and Elissa Perkins finished back-to-back with times of 25.86 and 26.14 to take 19th and 20th. Kyla Saleh rounded out the Badgers performance in the event with a time of 26.67 to take 24th.
Zinter added a seventh-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.27, while Saleh clocked in at 15.00.
Up Next: The Badgers split for two meets next weekend, traveling to the Stanford Invitational in Stanford, California, and the Triton Invitational in La Jolla, California, from April 3-4.
