Australian point guard brings vast experience to Badger backcourt
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin men's basketball has signed Owen Foxwell to its incoming class. head coach Greg Gard announced on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-1 point guard hails from Melbourne, Australia, the hometown of Badger junior Austin Rapp.
"Owen is a fantastic point guard who is mature, experienced, and an excellent leader," Gard said. "He's played at the highest level in Australia and has had great success with winning teams. His personality fits our culture really well and he's a consummate teammate and proven winner. As we build next year's roster, his game pairs terrifically with our experienced front line. We're looking forward to getting Owen to Madison soon to begin our off-season preparation."
Foxwell played his last five seasons with the Melbourne Phoenix in the Australian NBL, the country's top professional league. He averaged 10.8 points, 4.5 assists and 3 rebounds during the 2025-26 campaign after earning the starting point guard role.

Foxwell debuted for the Australian National Team in the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup, where he aided the Boomers to a gold medal. He tallied 7.8 points, 3.2 assists and 2.7 rebounds across the six games.
