Langseth leads with runner-up finish in elite shot put competition
LA JOLLA, Calif. – The Wisconsin track and field team turned in a series of solid performances in elite throwing events at the UC Davis Triton Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by a podium finish in the women's shot put.
Danni Langseth placed second in the women's shot put elite section with a mark of 54 feet, 8 ¼ inches (16.67m). Zonica Lindeque added a top-five finish, taking fifth at 51-5 ¾ (15.69m), while Hadley Lucas recorded an 11th-place finish with a throw of 46-9 ½ (14.26m).
On the men's side, Kyle Clabough delivered a strong performance in the shot put elite, finishing sixth with a mark of 57-7 (17.55m). Jake Schafer competed in the men's discus elite section, posting a throw of 164-7 (50.17m) to place 20th.
Up Next: The Badgers will return to competition at the Illini Deca-Jam, hosted by the University of Illinois and UW-Platteville in Platteville, Wisconsin.
