Seven Badgers from Frozen Four run at camps across North America
MADISON, Wis. — A total of 19 Wisconsi men's hockey alumni made it to NHL training camps for the 2026-27 season, including seven Badgers who were part of UW's 2026 NCAA Championship Game run last April.
Among those returning to camp this fall are Carolina Hurricanes defenseman K'Andre Miller, who won the 2026 Stanley Cup, and Cole Caufield, who became the second Badger all-time to score 50 goals in an NHL season last year.

Miller became the 15th Badger to ever hoist a Stanley Cup as a player. Before Miller, Ryan McDonagh was the last Badger to win the Cup in 2021. Miller arrived in Carolina just last year, after playing for the New York Rangers.
Dylan Holloway receives the letter A
Fresh off a 5-year, $38.75 million contract extension with the St. Louis Blues, Holloway was just named one of four alternate captains. In his first two seasons on the Blues he recorded 48 goals and 66 assists.
Seven Badgers who departed last year have made their way to camp:
Ben Dexheimer — Signed with the Minnesota Wild as a free agent out of college and played in two preseason games so far.
Simon Tassy — Signed a deal with AHL's Bakersfield Condors and was invited to Oilers training camp. He played in one preseason game so far.
Christian Fitzgerald — Signed a one-year entry-level deal with AHL's Texas Stars and skated in a one preseason game.
Blake Montgomery — Turned pro after just his freshman year, signing a three-year entry-level contract with the Ottawa Senators. He's expected to skate for Belleville's AHL lineup this season.
Aiden Dubinsky — Attending Montreal Canadiens training cam, but signed a one-year AHL deal with Laval last spring.
Quinn Finley — Recovering from shoulder surgery, but has been attending New York Islanders training camp in a red non-contact jersey.
Jack Horbach — Signed a deal with the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, but attended Pittsburgh's NHL camp.
