Badgers tie for third at 2026 Badger Invitational

Wisconsin finishes nine-under at University Ridge Golf Course
Madison, Wis. — The Wisconsin men's golf team tied for third place at the 2026 Badger Invitational at home University Ridge Golf Course, finishing the three-day tournament at nine-under par (282-287-286=855).
Freshman Joseph Gutierrez led the Badgers in his second-consecutive tournament with a tie for 10th place at three-under par. Gutierrez recorded a career-best 67 to start the tournament followed by a two-under round before finishing up with a four-over round on Tuesday.
Cody Guetzke, Jason Shwartz and Drew Sacia tied for 23rd place at one-over par. Guetzke had his best round come on Tuesday when he recorded a three-under round after recording rounds of one-over and three-over. Shwartz concluded with rounds of two-under, one-over and two-over while Sacia had a one-under round to close out the tournament.
Charles Erlandson tied for 29th place at two-over par with an even-par round on Tuesday.
Three Badgers played as individuals in the tournament. Sophomore Vijay Kumar tied for 16th place at one-under par with rounds of two-under, one-under and two-over. Senior James Boustead tied for 23rd place at one-over while sophomore William Harned tied for 29th place at two-over par with a two-under round to close the tournament.
Freshman Braden Nelson competed with other individuals at the Goat Hill Championship on Sunday and Monday, finishing seven-over and tying for 13th after three rounds.
Wisconsin started off their tournament with their best team score of the week with a six-under par total. The Badgers then followed that up with a one-under par total in the second round, finishing off with a two-under par total in their final round on Tuesday, finishing the tournament at nine-under par.
The individual winner of the tournament was Southern Mississippi at 23-under par, thanks to a 11-under final round total. South Dakota State took second place at 17-under par, while Wisconsin and Western Kentucky were tied for third at nine-under par.
The individual winner of the tournament was Jake Moffitt from Southern Miss at 14-under par.
