Prep: Beto Spielvogel is a local Wisconsin product who was a part of the Madison 56ers 2016 state semi-finalist and 2017 state finalist teams. He was selected for the Wisconsin Fire three years in a row.

In high school, he was a part of the National Honors Society, Student Council, Spanish Club, Dubuque Area Youth Leadership Council and Leo Club. He is ranked in the top 10 percent of his class and was featured as the student spotlight of the month for his local newspaper.

"UW Madison is a school that is going to challenge me as a student, while also giving me the opportunity to be a part of Wisconsin Badger athletics which I've always been a fan of growing up."

Coach Trask: "Beto was encouraged to join us this spring and get a head start on his UW career and work extensively with Tim Boruff, our goalkeeper coach.  Beto possesses great physical attributes and has impressed us with his work ethic and command of the team.  Beto's improvement already has the staff excited as to where he can be by this coming fall.  To make the adjustment so smoothly into the training regimen and academic rigors here at Wisconsin is a testament to his desire to have a great career.

Coach Tiemeyer: "A local player, former camper that had no high school option for soccer, Beto has joined our GK corps this spring.  He has a long build, outstanding shot stopping ability, good persona and improved distribution abilities.  I look forward to Beto's continued development and envision great things from him in the future."

Coach Boruff: Beto was the top goalkeeper in the area in his class, and we are very excited for his career to begin in Madison. He played for the Madison 56ers and was trained by Nick Pasquarello, who did an excellent job in his development. Beto has all of the tools to be a successful goalkeeper for us down the road. Being a local kid Beto grew up a Wisconsin fan, and will bring that Badger passion to our team. Beto will strengthen our goalkeeping core immediately.
