2021-22: Competed in a meet against Arizona and Hawaii and placed third in the 200 backstroke (1:59.72), fourth in the 100 back (55.76), fourth in the 200 free relay (1:34.98) and fifth in the 400 free relay (3:26.76) (10/22-23)

2020-21: Academic All-Big Ten honoree...swam in a meet against Minnesota and Purdue and placed fourth in the 200 medley relay ‘B’ team (1:42.80), placed third in the 100 backstroke (54.36), took second in the 200 backstroke (1:57.80) and was a member of the Wisconsin ‘B’ team that placed fourth in the 400 free relay in a time of 3:25.95 (1/23)...competed in a meet against Northwestern and Illinois and placed fourth in the 100 backstroke (53.98), took sixth in the 50 free (23.44), placed third in the 200 back (1:56.35) and was on the ‘A’ team that placed second in the 200 free relay in a time of 1:32.59 (2/6)...competed in the Big Ten Championships and was amember of the 200 medley relay that placed fifth (1:38.65), placed 25th in the 50 free (23.19), took 50th in the 200 free (1:52.00), placed third in the 100 backstroke (52.89) and  took fifth in the 200 backstroke in a time of 1:54.18 (2/23-2/26)...qualified to compete in the NCAA Division I Championships where she took 19th in the 100 backstroke (52.46) and placed 21st in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:54.38 (3/17-3/20)

2019-20: Finished second in the 200 back (2:02.91) and third in the 50 free (24.70), was also part of the second-place 200 medley relay (1:47.11, 26.93 split) vs. Green Bay (Oct. 4)... placed third in the 100 LC back (1:04.51) and fourth in the 200 back (1:58.62), was also part of the second-place 200 free relay (1:34.15, 23.46 split) at Virginia (Oct. 25)... finished third in the 200 back (2:00.43) and fifth in the 100 back (56.06), was also part of the second-place 200 medley relay (1:42.90, 26.69 split) and the fourth-place 200 free relay (1:35.09, 23.52 split) at Minnesota (Nov. 8)... finished ninth in the 100 back, setting a new career-best (53.53) and ninth in the 200 back (1:56.36), 23rd in the 50 free (23.38) and was also part of the third-place 200 free relay (1:31.16, 22.91 split), the eighth-place 400 medley relay (3:40.19, 53.17 leg) and the 10th-place 400 free relay (3:23.79, 50.41 leg) at the NC State Invitational (Nov. 21-23)... placed second in the 100 back (56.38) and sixth in the 50 free (24.48), was also part of the third-place 400 free relay (3:32.14, 52.89 leg) at Hawaii (Jan. 9)... placed second in the 200 back (2:01.43) and fourth in the 100 back (56.73), was also part of two third-place relays - the 200 medley (1:43.81, 26.57 split) and the 400 free (3:28.31, 52.66 leg) - vs. Northwestern (Jan. 25)... finished third in the 50 free (24.62) and was part of the first-place 200 free relay (1:32.90, 23.27 split) in the Badger Red/White Meet (Feb. 1)

Prep: Qualified for 2019 NCAAs in 200 backstroke at UCLA … swam both 200 and 100 backstroke (bonus) at 2019 NCAAs … Oregon Collegiate Swimmer of the Year .... For Lake Oswego Swim Club, she was named the Oregon Female Swimmer of the Year two years in a row, was a three-time LOSC MVP … 2018 summer juniors runner-up, 2016 Olympic Trials qualifier ... For Lakeridge High School, she was state champion in the 100 back and 100 fly as a senior, state runner-up as a junior in 100 back and took third in 100 fly, four-time District champion in 100 back and 100 fly… two-time team captain … three-time team MVP.

Personal: Parents are Cathy and Mark Newman, has one sibling; Ilana Newman …. Cousins, Grace Waller, swam four years at Oakland … Emily Waller, swam four years at Bowling Green … Uncle, Brad Waller, played one year of basketball at Cincinnati and then three years at Northern Illinois 

Why did you choose the University of Wisconsin? I chose Wisconsin because of the amazing team and coaching staff. As a transfer, the culture and pride of the team, the school and the city of Madison drew me to this school.
