Wisconsin Football : 2023 Spring Practice

The Wisconsin Badgers began preparations for the 2023 season with spring practice kicking off on March 25 in Madison. Head coach Luke Fickell, who was hired on Nov. 26, 2022, begins his first full season at the helm of the program and is set to orchestrate a new era of Badger football.

Wisconsin hosted “The Launch” on Saturday, April 22 at Camp Randall Stadium, an open practice event. With excitement swirling during the offseason, fans were welcomed for the first public appearance of Fickell’s new-look Badgers. New offensive coordinator Phil Longo (UNC) has implemented a dynamic, high-powered offensive attack while Mike Tressel, the Badgers’ new defensive coordinator, arrives in Madison after directing a top defensive unit at Cincinnati.

Along with Fickell’s coaching staff additions, the program has welcomed a crop of transfers and early-enrollee freshmen, adding talent to a group that returns significant contributors from 2022. With 13 transfer additions, Wisconsin’s transfer class ranks No. 6 in the nation, according to On3.com.
