The mission of the Meditation Training department is to train, research and collaborate to understand and apply rigorous meditation training in the lives of UW Athletics student athletes and staff.
Description of Services
Meditation is a scientifically based way to train your mind to move more confidently in the direction of your performance and well-being goals. Meditation Training is Strength and Conditioning for your mind. The impacts of meditation - concentration, stability, feeling connected, more purposeful, etc. - can show up across your life from athletics to academics and beyond.
The Meditation Training Department is the first of its kind in the world and collaborates closely with Forward 360 peers, sport coaches and administration. The work is grounded in rigorous scientific evidence and we are actively engaged in ongoing scientific research. Meditation Training is not a replacement for clinical mental health support.
Description of Training
We train with individuals, small groups and entire teams. Our interest is to train with you so that your mind is a powerful asset as you go from good to great and great to elite. All of us have an inner life of thoughts and emotions, and only some will train their minds to have the skills to fully unleash their untapped potential.
Access to the Meditation Training services can be done in variety of ways, including but not limited to contacting the Director of Meditation Training directly, referrals from Clinical Sport Psychology, Strength and Conditioning, Sports Medicine, other Forward360 units, coaches and administration.
