Travel Center - Camp Randall Concert Tailgating FAQs

To ensure a safe and enjoyable tailgating experience for you, both before and after each concert, and to not disrupt other patrons, please adhere to the following rules and cooperate with event staff and law enforcement:

Q. Where can I find information regarding my parking lot?

A. Lot specific information, including lot type, landmark, address and distance to Camp Randall Stadium, may be found by visiting UWBadgers.com/Parking and clicking on the Concerts & Special Events tab.

Q. How many parking stalls may I occupy?

A. Only one vehicle per stall is permitted.

Q. Where can I park?

A. Patrons must display a valid event parking pass to the attendant upon arrival to the lot. Upon authorization to go ahead into the lot, patrons may occupy any available stall, unless otherwise directed by the lot attendant. Patrons should pay attention to posted signage or other barriers that may prevent a stall from being occupied. Parking stalls are filled on a first come, first serve basis.

Q. What times do parking lots open?

A. Parking lots open at 12 p.m. CST, except for Friends (Friends Meetinghouse), which opens three (3) hours prior to gates, and Church A, B & C (First Congregational Church lots), which open four (4) hours prior to gates. Early access to the parking lot is prohibited.

Q. May I park overnight?

A. Overnight parking is prohibited in all University-operated lots. All vehicles must leave following the event.

Q. Which concerts & special events can I tailgate for?

A. Tailgating is only permissible for Camp Randall concerts. Tailgating is prohibited for all other UW-Madison concerts & special events.

Q. Where can I tailgate?

A. Patrons who have purchased a valid event parking permit and their guests may responsibly tailgate within the immediate area of their parking space. Patrons may not block a drive or fire lane, or block multiple stalls, including with but not limited to, tailgate chairs, games or coolers.

Q. What rules regarding open containers should I be aware of?

A. Open containers are only permitted within UW-Madison parking lots. Open containers are prohibited on campus greenspaces, sidewalks and City of Madison sidewalks. Law enforcement will be actively enforcing all open container regulations per UWS 18.09(1)(a) with a fine of $200.50.

Q. Am I allowed to grill when I tailgate?

A. Open flames, including grills and fires, are strictly prohibited.

Q. Are tents allowed?

A. Tents, canopies and other structures are not allowed in parking areas.

Q. Will there be a place for me to dispose of my trash?

A. Most parking lots have either a dumpster or trash receptacle bin with which to dispose of trash where space is available. Patrons must respect the property and leave the parking lot in the condition in which it was found.

Q. Are portable restrooms available in the parking lot?

A. Portable restrooms will be available in a variety of campus parking lots.

Q. Are campus buildings open to the public during the event?

A. Campus buildings are not open to the public. Entering without authorization may result in trespassing citations.

Q. Are there any items that I am prohibited from bringing into a parking lot?

A. Weapons of any kind are prohibited from being brought into parking lots. Please review the Wisconsin Athletics Carry-In policy here for further information.

Q. What should we do in case of an emergency?

A. In the event of police, fire or medical emergency, call 911. Provide your exact parking lot number, location and address to the dispatcher as displayed on your special event hang tag.
