Started all 37 games during UW’s run to the Sweet 16 … finished tied for second on the team in points (14.0) and ranked second in both rebounds (6.6) and assists (2.7) … Hayes was one of just three Big Ten players to average at least 13 points, 6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game … despite UW’s heartbreaking overtime loss vs. Florida in the Sweet 16 (3/24), Hayes led all Badgers with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal … facing No. 1 overall seed Villanova (3/18) in the second round, Hayes tallied a game-high 19 points, including the game-winning layup with 11.4 seconds left, while adding 8 rebounds in the upset win … in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, recorded a double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds) and added 3 assists in a win vs. Virginia Tech (3/16) … named to the 2017 Big Ten All-Tournament Team after he averaged 14 points, 10 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game and helped UW reach the title game … against No. 23 Maryland (2/19), posted a double-double with a team-high 21 points and 10 rebounds, plus two assists and two steals … game-high 20 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer in overtime to win at Nebraska (2/9) … tallied 21 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in an overtime win at Minnesota (1/21) … racked up a season-high 28 points (8-13 FG, 2-2 3FG, 10-13 FG) and added 6 assists in a win against Oklahoma (12/3) … displayed his all-around game in a dominant win over No. 22 Syracuse (11/29), finishing one point shy of a triple-double (9 pts, 11 reb, 10 ast)

Started all 35 games during UW's run to the Sweet 16 ... led all Badgers in points (15.7), assists (104), free throws (190), free throw attempts (258) and ranked second on the team in both rebounds (204) and steals (39) ... with 24 points against Green Bay (12/23), Hayes became the 42nd player in program history to score 1,000 career points and became just the 18th player in UW annals to reach the century mark in three seasons ... tallied 14 points, which included a career-high four 3-pointers, plus six rebounds and two assists in UW's road win at No. 2 Maryland (2/13) ... powered his way to a game-high 31 points against Indiana (1/26) with career highs in free throws (17) and free throw attempts (22) ... recorded 25 points (7-14 FG, 2-3 3FG, 9-10 FT) and 7 rebounds to help lead the Badgers to an upset of No. 4 Michigan State (1/17) ... scored a career-high 32 points and also grabbed 8 rebounds vs. Milwaukee (12/9) ... tallied one of his three double-doubles on the season with 20 points and 11 rebounds on the road at No. 7 Oklahoma (12/2) ... scored 22 points and grabbed four rebounds vs. Georgetown (11/20) at Madison Square Garden as part of the 2K Classic
