Honors: WCHA Defenseman of the Week (Oct. 16, 2018), WCHA All-Academic (2019-20, 2020-21, 2022-23)... Academic All-Big Ten (2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21, 202-23)
2022-23: Served as an alternate captain for the National Championship team, appearing in 24 games before suffering a season-ending injury … posted 15 assists … finished with a +24 plus-minus rating … recorded 24 blocks
2021-22: Redshirt Year ... played for Team USA at the 2021 My Why Tour
2020-21: Played in 15 games with the National Championship team. Buchbinder scored four points, including one goal against St. Cloud State
2019-20: Despite a playoff schedule that ended early before the Badgers’ 2020 NCAA quarterfinal game against Clarkson, Buchbinder played in all 36 games this season helping UW to a WCHA regular season title... recorded one goal and 15 assists for a 16 point season … scored her first goal of the year in UW’s 3-2 win against Bemidji State (Jan. 10) … finished fourth on the team with an impressive +29 rating and second on the team with 42 blocks … made her national team debut in the 2019-20 Rivalry Series tallying one assist on Dec. 17
2018-19: A member of the 2019 National Championship team, Buchbinder appeared in all 41 contests for the Badgers, scoring two goals and 12 assists for 14 points on the season. Buchbinder earned WCHA Defenseman of the Week honors on Oct. 16 and also finished the championship season with an impressive +30 rating. The sophomore contributed to a UW defensive unit that allowed zero goals in the NCAA postseason, a playoff schedule that included games against No. 4 Clarkson and No. 2 Minnesota.
2017-18: Played in all 38 games... recorded one goal and five assists for six points... fourth on team in blocks with 38... scored the game-winning goal against Bemidji State on Oct. 21, 2017
Prep: Played for Shattuck St. Mary’s, where she helped her team to back-to-back U16 Tier 1 national championships in 2015 and 2016 … earned academic high honors in 2015 and 2016 … won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2017 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championships … logged one goal and two assists as a member of the 2016 US Women’s Under-18 Select team at the U-18 series vs. Canada … attended the 2016 USA Hockey Women’s National Festival … two-time National Player Development Camp invitee … played in the 2010 Selects invitational in Prague, Czech Republic and the 2011 Selects Invitational in Bolzano, Italy
Personal: Parents are Ron and Janet Buchbinder … has a sister, Camryn, and a brother, Matt … also competed in lacrosse … volunteered for Shattuck’s Hands Across Faribault ... enjoys hiking and traveling … intends to major in kinesiology
