Briana Hendricks Che joined the University of Wisconsin Athletics staff in August 2017 and was named the Interim Strength and Conditioning coach. She works directly with women’s varsity lightweight and open weight crew, and the women’s freshmen lightweight and open weight crew team.
Before coming to Wisconsin, Che’s other experience includes working as strength and conditioning coach at the University of Oklahoma and an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C.
While at Oklahoma, Che was responsible for the development and implementation of team and individualized conditioning programs for softball, rowing, and women’s tennis. At Limestone, Che directly oversaw all aspects of strength and conditioning for women’s basketball, volleyball, field hockey, soccer, track and field, and men’s and women’s tennis and cross country.
Che received a bachelor's degree in Exercise science and a minor in sports medicine from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2012. She obtained her a master's in Kinesiology from Indiana University, Bloomington in 2014. Additionally, she is currently attending East-West Healing Arts Institute to become a licensed massage therapist.
She obtained internships from Minnesota State University, Mankato, University of Iowa, and Indiana University.
Che is certified under the NSCA as a strength & conditioning specialist. She is SCCC certified with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, as well as USAW Sports Performance Coach certified. Che holds a CPR, AED and First Aid certification with the American Red Cross.
Che and her Husband Leonard reside in Madison.
