2021-22: Competed in a meet against Arizona and Hawaii and placed fourth in the 200 free relay (1:34.98), placed 12th in the 100 free (53.85) and 14th in the 50 free (24.49) (10/22-23)...swam against Minnesota and finished third in the 400 free relay (3:24.64) and eighth in the 100 free (53.01) and 50 free in 24.32 (11/5)
2020-21: Academic All-Big Ten honoree...in triangular meet against Purdue and Minnesota (1/23) placed 10th in 50 free (23.88), 11th in the 100 free (52.11) and swam on the B relay team that took fourth in the 200 Medley (1:42.80)...swam against Northwestern and Illinois (2/6) and placed eighth in 50 free swimming season-best time (23.75), and fourth in the 400 Medley Relay (3:43.63) and 200 free relay (1:34.86) on the B teams...competed in the Big Ten Championships and raced in the 50 free placing 56th (23.89), the 200 free placing 45th (1:51.20) and the 100 free placing 46th (51.27)
2019-20: Finished third in the 100 free (52.41) and was part of the first-place 400 free relay (3:30.86, 53.06 leg) vs. Green Bay (Oct. 4)... placed eighth in the 100 LC free (1:02.34) and 13th in the 200 free (1:55.96) while also being part of the second-place 400 LC free relay (4:02.63, 1:00.52 leg) and fifth-place 400 medley relay (3:48.35, 52.29 leg) at Virginia (Oct. 25)... finished seventh in the 100 free (52.73) and ninth in the 200 free (2:01.43) while also being part of the fourth-place 200 free relay (1:35.09, 23.14 split) at Minnesota (Nov. 8)... placed 28th in the 100 free (51.44) and 34th in the 50 free (23.74), set a new career-best in the 50 free (23.63) while kicking off the eighth-place 200 free relay (1:34.98), was also part of the eighth-place 400 medley relay (3:40.19, 50.59 leg) and the 10th-place 400 free relay (3:23.79, 51.29 leg) at the NC State Invitational (Nov. 21-23)... placed fifth in both the 50 free (24.27) and 100 free (53.18) while also being part of the first-place 400 free relay (3:26.09, 52.42 leg) at Hawaii (Jan. 9)... finished fifth in both the 50 free (24.35) and 100 free (52.95) while also being part of two third-place relays - 200 medley (1:43.81, 23.33 split) and 400 free (3:28.31, 52.19 leg) - vs. Northwestern (Jan. 25)... finished second in the 50 free (24.56) and was part of the second-place 200 free relay (1:34.57, 23.19 split) in the Badger Red/White Meet (Feb. 1)
2018-19: Qualified for 100 free finals, placing 23rd overall (50.49), and took 27th overall in the 200 free (1:49.16) at the Big Ten championships … made Badger debut with fifth-place finish in the 200 free (1:56.22) vs. Green Bay … qualified for 100 back finals, finishing 28th overall (57.89) and 200 free finals, placing 28th overall (1:49.82) at the Texas Hall of Fame Invitational
Prep: Seven-time NCSA Junior Nationals qualifier … 500 freestyle champion at Wisconsin Short Course Championships as a senior … finished third in 500 free and sixth in 200 free at high school state meet as a senior … all-state as a senior … honorable mention all-state as a junior … 11-time state meet qualifier … sectional champion in 500 free as a sophomore, junior and senior … also claimed sectional titles in 200 free and 200 and 400 free relays as a senior … four-time All-Fox Valley Association first team selection … two-time team MVP … team captain as a senior … four-year honor roll student … graduated cum laude … high school coach was Carrie Raeth … club coach was Curt Beutler
Personal: Parents are Debbie and Ignacio Cortina … siblings are Rachel and Naomi … enjoys spending time outside and being active with friends … volunteered at the Warrior Princess Mud Run and Filthy Fun Kids Run for three years each
