2017-18: Competed in her first individual NCAA event, placing 22nd in the 50 free (22.36) and participated in four relay squads, including three honorable-mention All-American squads, at the NCAA Championships ... took part in three top-three relays and a fifth-place relay squad, finished sixth in the 50 free (22.22), 12th in the 100 breast (1:00.99), and eighth in the 200 back (48.95) at the Big Ten Championships ... participated in four top-five relays at the Shamrock Invitational, including the fourth-place 200 medley relay squad (1:41.41) ... placed second in the 100 breast (1:03.98), third in the 100 free (51.08) and claimed a victory with the 400 free relay squad (3:21.14) ... participated in four top-five relay squads at the Texas Invitational, including the second-place 400 free relay squad (3:15.38) ... finished second in the 100 breast (1:03.92) and took part in 2 victorious relay squads, the 200 free relay (1:32.42) and 200 medley relay (1:40.34) at Northwestern ... won the 200 IM (2:02.85) and the 50 free (23.65), and  participated in the winning 400 medley relay squad (3:44.30) vs. UW-Green Bay ... took part in the first-place 200 medley relay squad (1:39.99), second-place 400 free relay squad (3:21.95) third-place 200 free relay squad (1:31.94), and third-place 400 medley relay squad (3:40.94), and finished sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.08) at the Big Ten quad in Minnesota  ... won the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.33), participated in the victorious 200 medley relay squad (1:40.57), and took part in 3 second-place relays vs. NC State ... took part in the winning 200-yard medley relay squad (1:40.41) and second-place 400-yard free relay squad (3:22.88), and finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.45) vs. Georgia ... took part in the first-place 200-yard medley relay squad (1:40.12), second-place 200 free relay squad (1:32.30), and third-place 400 medley relay squad (3:39.96) vs. Auburn and Tennessee

2016-17: Garnered two All-America honors at the NCAA Championships after placing seventh in the 400 free relay (3:12.94) and eighth in the 200 free relay (1:28.01), also took 12th in the 200 medley relay (1:36.62) and broke the school record and Big Ten record in the 400 free relay during preliminaries (3:12.91) ... two-time Big Ten champion, anchoring the 200 free relay to victory (1:27.90) and contributing to the win in the 400 free relay (3:13.33), also took third in the 200 medley relay (1:36.41), 10th in the 50 free (22.59), 11th in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.27) and eighth in the 100 free (49.07) ... helped set the UW Natatorium record in the 200 freestyle relay (1:30.26) against Green Bay, also took second in the 400 medley relay (3:45.27) and 100 breaststroke (1:04.01) ... earned three wins in the 200 free relay (1:29.91), 400 free relay (3:17.78) and 200 medley relay (1:39.85) at the Notre Dame Shamrock Invitational, also placed sixth in the 50 free (23.17) and 400 medley relay (3:45.44), seventh in the 800 free relay (7:35.27), eighth in the 100 free (50.90) and ninth in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.63) ... took second in the 400 free relay (3:20.17), fourth in the 400 medley relay (3:47.22), eighth in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.87) and seventh in the 100 free (51.83) at USC ... individually, finished 10th in the 50 free (22.56), 11th in the 100 free (49.67) and 13th in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.98) at the Texas Invitational, also was a part of the runner-up 200 medley relay team ... placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.67) and fifth in the 100 free (50.92) at Georgia while finishing third in the 400 free relay (3:24.58), fourth in the 400 medley relay (3:44.17), first in the 200 free relay (1:30.80), and second in the 200 medley relay (1:41.02) ... placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.05), fifth in the 50-yard free (23.57), and seventh in the 100-yard free (51.67) against NC State while also helping the 200-yard free relay (1:31.42) and 200-yard medley relay (1:41.55) take second and the 400-yard free relay (3:28.34) place fourth ... earned a pair of third-place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (23.44) and the 100-yard freestyle (51.59) while being a part of the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:40.42) and 400-yard freestyle relay teams (3:19.98) against Minnesota ... took fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.96) and fifth in the 100-yard freestyle (51.77) vs. Auburn while also helping the 200-yard medley relay take first in 1:41.44 and the 400-yard freestyle relay place second in 3:23.84

2015-16: Helped the Badgers to a ninth-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:28.86) and an 18th-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay (3:16.05) at the NCAA Championship ... set two career-best marks at the Big Ten Championship with an eighth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (22.55) and a 15th-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (49.55) ... grabbed a runner-up finish in the 100-yard breaststroke vs. Green Bay with a time of 1:04.06 ... finished third in the 50- (23.50) and fifth in the 100-yard (52.02) freestyle at Georgia ... placed fifth in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events at Auburn with times of 23.50 and 50.93, respectively ... finished third in the 50-yard freestyle at USC with a time of 23.52 ... recorded a pair of personal-best times at the Texas Invitational with a 13th-place preliminary finish in the 50-yard freestyle (23.01) and a 13th-place preliminary finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.12) ... claimed a runner-up finish in the 50-meter freestyle at Indiana (26.48) ... placed third in the 100-yard freestyle against Minnesota with a time of 51.43

2014-15: Recorded personal best times in every event she competed in at the Big Ten championships ... held the third-fastest 100-yard breaststroke time (1:03.57) and fifth-fastest 50- (23.21) and 100-yard freestyle (50.22) times on the team ... helped guide the 200-yard freestyle relay to a first-place finish against Northwestern

Prep: A USA Junior National qualifier in the 50 free, Berg swims with the Green County Golden Gators YMCA. The Monticello, Wis., native also plays volleyball, basketball and softball for her high school, which does not have a swim team. She is a three-time all-conference player and player of the year and MVP in her conference senior year in volleyball. Marissa is a four-year starter and first team all-conference selection for her basketball team and an all-conference catcher for her softball team

Personal: Majoring in human development and family studies

Hite on Berg: "Marissa is a four-sport athlete and another in-state kid that we're really excited about. She's just scratching the surface as a sprint freestyler and we really think between Emma (Bare) and her we got two steals as far as the potential of what they can do."
