Tom Bjugstad

Tom Bjugstad joined the UW Strength and Conditioning program in the Fall of 2015. Bjugstad began his career at UW as an intern before becoming a graduate assistant in the Summer of 2016. Bjugstad is currently pursuing a master’s degree in kinesiology from UW Madison.

Bjugstad is the primary strength coach for both Men’s and Women’s Tennis. He assists with the strength and conditioning for Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, and Rowing.

Before coming to UW, Bjugstad was an intern at the University of Tulane and the University of Southern Utah where he worked with football, men’s and women’s basketball, gymnastics, and volleyball.

Bjugstad received his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2015. While there, he worked as a sport performance intern for three years with each of the university’s 17 teams. During this time, he also served as a sports nutrition intern.

Bjugstad is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA and he holds a Level I Sports Performance Coach certification through USA Weightlifting.

Bjugstad is married to his wife Lauren and resides in Madison, Wisconsin.
