Why Wisconsin?
"Ever since I was little, I wanted to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I guess there was always something very appealing about being a Badger."
Off the Mat with Ben
Before each game I: Always jog and pray. Regardless of the caliber of my opponent I still get some nerves, and praying helps me mentally prepare, while jogging preps my body.
A non-athletic talent I have is: Being musical. I play piano, cello, guitar, and participated on the drum line in high school.
One thing I absolutely have to do before I turn 40: Go surfing
Favorite quote: "No trial has overtaken you that is not faced by others. And God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide a way out so that you may be able to endure it." -1 Corinthians 10:13
Most memorable wrestling achievement or favorite wrestling moment: Definitely winning the championship match at state. For me, it was the ultimate goal in high school wrestling. If I watch the film, my eyes start to water almost every time.
If I could change one thing about wrestling, it would be: I wouldn't change one thing about wrestling. It's a great sport that should not be tampered with.
Best UW memory: When I got to spend one night in the dorms and hang out with some of the wrestlers. I was able to find out just how popular Babcock ice cream is.
If you were stranded on an island, which two teammates would you bring with and why? I would have to go with David Chadd and Ryan Christensen. I have been able to get to know both of them and they're cool guys that wouldn't make me want to desert the island.
Greatest fear: Depth in water. The few times I've gone snorkeling I've gotten into the position where I look down and there is nothing but darkness...I hate that.
