Livingston Named Big Ten Player of the Week

Sherisa Livingston, a senior at the University of Wisconsin, was named the Big Ten Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 22, the conference office announced.
Livingston, a 6-2 middle blocker, lead the Badgers to win at 21st-ranked Minnesota and Iowa last weekend. She recorded a match high 15 kills against the Gophers and hit .542 percent. She also led all blockers with five stuffs including one solo.
Livingston set the UW career record for kills in the third game against Minnesota. She broke the record of 1,661 kills held by Amy Lee (1994-97). Livingston currently has 1,680 kills in her career.
'I'm definitely happy,' said Livingston of the record. 'I'm more excited about the win.'
Against Iowa, she tied teammate Erin Byrd with a match-high 13 kills. Livingston hit a match-high .455 percent. She also added four blocks including one solo.
The Badgers opens the second half of the Big Ten season this weekend with what is arguably the toughest road swing in the league. The Badgers travel to 10th-ranked Ohio State on Friday for a 7 p.m. EST match in St. John's Arena in Columbus, Ohio. That match will be broadcast on a tape-delayed basis by FoxSports Net. The match will show on FoxSports Chicago on Sunday at 3 p.m. and on FoxSports North on Monday at 2 p.m.
On Saturday, Wisconsin takes on 13th-ranked Penn State at 7 p.m. EST in Rec Hall in University Park, Pa. That match will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 on Sunday at 3 p.m.
