Hunter Named WCHA Player of the Week

Sophomore Meghan Hunter (Oil Springs, Ontario) was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's Player of the Week for a six-point weekend in fourth-ranked Wisconsin's win and tie at Ohio State this past weekend.
The forward scored the game-winning goal on a power play and set up three others in Bucky's 6-0 victory over the Buckeyes on Friday. She took three shots and was a plus-1 for the contest. On Saturday, Hunter assisted Wisconsin first two goals as the team skated to a 3-3 tie. She took three more shots in the contest.
Hunter now shares the nation's scoring lead with 13 points on four goals and nine assists.
The first-place Badgers (4-0-2 overall, 3-0-1 WCHA) play host to No. 1 and defending NCAA champion Minnesota-Duluth (3-0-1, 1-0-1) this weekend at Capitol Ice Arena in Middleton, Wis. Both Friday and Saturday's games begin at 7:05 p.m.
