Junior Sis Paulsen (Eau Claire, Wis.) has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week for her play this past weekend against Minnesota State.
The Badger captain collected four points in a Badger home sweep over the Mavericks. Paulsen recorded two assists in the UW's 4-1 win on Friday, and added a goal and an assist in the Badgers' 3-0 win on Saturday.
The defender set up the game-winning goal in the first contest during the second period with a slap shot. The Badgers would score on the rebound. Paulsen won the second game late in the second period with a slap shot following a faceoff win in the offensive zone.
Paulsen's four points gives her two goals, eight assists and 10 points on the season. Her total has her at the top of the list in scoring among league defenders.
The fourth-ranked Badgers (6-2-2 overall, 5-2-1 WCHA) travel to No. 5 New Hampshire (6-1-0) this weekend for games on Friday and Saturday night. The games at the Whittemore Center in Durham, N.H. begin at 7 p.m. EST.
