Evans a Biletnikoff Semifinalist

Lee Evans, a junior wide receiver with the Wisconsin football team, has been selected as a semifinalist for the 2001 Biletnikoff Award, which is presented annually to the nation 's best wide receiver.
Evans has caught 63 passes for 1,363 yards and nine touchdowns this season, all school records. He needs just 73 yards to break the Big Ten's season record for receiving yardage and just 31 yards to become Wisconsin's all-time receiving yardage leader. He currently leads the nation in receiving yardage and is third nationally in receiving yards per game with 136.3.
Joining Evans on the semifinalist list are: Jabar Gaffney and Reche Caldwell of Florida, Ashley Lelie of Hawaii, Nakoa McElrath of Washington State, Kelly Campbell of Georgia Tech, Josh Reed of LSU, Marquise Walker of Michigan, Kelley Washington of Tennessee, Darius Watts of Marshall and Kevin Curtis of Utah State.
The winner will be selected by print, radio and television media, as well as receivers, coaches and past award winners. The winner will be announced on Dec. 6. College and Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff will make the presentation at an awards banquet on Feb. 13 in Tallahassee, Fla. The award was founded and is sponsored by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc.
