Golfer's Take Second at Mission Inn Fall Classic

Wisconsin women's golf tied their best team finish this fall by taking second place of seventeen teams in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida at the El Campeon Golf Course of Stetson University. The course proved difficult as most of the girls shot some of their higher rounds of the season, yet still managed to total rounds of 316 and 317 for 633 strokes. In first place was Indiana University with scores of 304 and 310 to total 614. Behind the Badger's in third place was Jacksonville State with 320-321 to total 641 strokes. The tournament consisted of 18 holes of play on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
Junior Malinda Johnson led the Badger's again this week with scores of 75-79'154 to tie with Georgia State's Nicole Wagner in fourth place. Only two strokes later came senior Katie Connelly with a 76-80'156 to tie in the seventh position. Next for the Badger's were freshmen Jackie Obermueller with 81-82'163 and Lindsay McMillan with 87-76'163 both tying for 28th. Also competing was senior Carli Gregorin with scores of 84-85'169 to tie for 49th. With her second consecutive tournament medal was Karen Dennison of Indiana University with a 70 and 79 to total 149 strokes and lead the individuals.
