The women golfers sit at the fifth spot after the first day of contention at the 16-team Legends Shootout in Franklin, IN. Last year the Badgers finished second and broke several personal bests and this year they seem to have a similar outcome. Shooting rounds of 301 and 302 to total 603, the Badgers had their lowest first round and two-round totals of the season. Leading the teams again this tournament is Kent State, who won the last two tournaments, with a total 589 strokes.
Senior Katie Connelly is the lone individual holding the sixth spot, her best standing thus far this season, by shooting a 74-72'146, only 2 strokes over par. In the 17th position is Malinda Johnson with a 74-76'150. Freshman Lindsay McMillan is third lowest for the team at a tie for 36th with a 77-78'155.
