Men's Cross Country Ranked Third Nationally
November 19, 2002 | Men's Cross Country
The Wisconsin men's cross country team has moved to third in the latest Mondo Men's Poll released Nov. 19. The ranking is the highest for the Badgers this season and the best ranking heading into the NCAA Championship during head coach Jerry Schumacher's tenure.
The Badgers compete at the NCAA Championship Monday Nov. 25, in Terre Haute, Ind. Wisconsin is making its 31st consecutive NCAA appearance and has won three national championships (1982, 1985 and 1988). The Badgers are running for a fourth straight top-five finish. Wisconsin's best finish under Schumacher was second in 1999.
The Badgers have won the Big Ten and Great Lakes Regional Championships earlier this year.
