December 17, 2002 | Football
Sophomore Jim Leonhard, the nation's leading interceptor, was named third-team All-American by the Associated Press Tuesday.
Leonhard, a non-scholarship walk-on from Tony, Wis., set a Badger season record with 10 interceptions and finished second on the squad with 93 tackles. Leonhard also set a school mark with 438 punt return yards this season.
The first-team All-Big Ten selection (by the news media) was named a CNN/SI first-team All-American earlier this month.
