BIG WIN FOR WISCONSIN WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
By Sarah Kuethe
Game 1
The first thing that happened was Purdue hit the ball hard for a spike, but Jill Odenthal, for the Badgers, dove and saved it from hitting the ground. Badger's Erin Byrd was serving and served for a service ace. After that it was a good volley until Jill Odenthal spiked it down for the point. Then we served and they hit a wonderful spike, but Amy Hultgren for the Badgers did an excellent dig. As the game went on more and more digs happened. Even three more service aces. Morgan Shields had the kill for game point. The final score, Wisconsin 30 and Purdue 19.
Game 2
A lot of kills for Wisconsin. A couple of errors here and there for both teams. There were some awesome saves and blocks that helped Wisconsin. In game 2 the Badgers had four service aces. All in all the game point was made by a block by Amy Hultgren and Marian Weidner. The final score, Wisconsin 30 and Purdue 19.
Game 3
There were some more blocks in this game, lots of digs, and a couple of tips. Not as many kills. In this game it looked like Purdue handled the ball better, however, Wisconsin won with a score of 30 to 26.
All in all I think Purdue was no match for the Badgers.
Wisconsin won all three games.
