Badger Women Tied For Fifth at Hawkeye Invite

The Wisconsin women's golf team opened play at the Hawkeye Invitational Saturday tied for fifth after shooting a 308-310-618 on the par-73 Finkbine Golf Course. Junior Katie Connelly paced the Badgers with a 1-under-par 71-74-145 to grab fourth place.
Michigan has a firm hold on first after firing a 7-under-par 577. Indiana is 21 shots back after a 598 and Iowa is in third with a 602. Le Anna Wicks led the charge for the Wolverines with a 6-under-par 140 to take the top spot in the individual standings.
Also contributing for Wisconsin were sophomore Emily Hendricks (18th, 77-77-154), junior Carli Gregorin (32nd, 80-80!'160), sophomore Malinda Johnson (36th, 80-81-161), freshman Andrea Nelson (40th, 80-82-162) and senior Heidi Njoes (50th, 86-79-165).
Final-round action at the Hawkeye Invitational takes place Sunday with the final 18 holes.
