Jill Ries, a senior at Middleton High School, has signed an `acceptance of admissions letter' to attend the University of Wisconsin in the fall and become a member of the women's golf team. A recruited athlete at Wisconsin, Ries finished in the top 10 of the Wisconsin State High School championship the last three years.
She was named co-Player of the Year in 2000, by the Wisconsin High School Golf Coaches. An All-State selection in 1999, 2000 and 2001, she was also Big 8 Conference Player of the Year in 1999, 2000 and 2001. Ries captured the Madison City Junior Tournament title last summer. She is an honor roll student and also participated on the Middleton High School basketball and softball teams.
Wisconsin Head Golf Coach Dennis Tiziani said, "Ries will make an excellent addition to our team. She brings enthusiasm, a great work ethic and a balanced personality. I anticipate she will vie for a spot on our traveling squad."
