Badger Women Tie For Sixth at Indiana Invite

The Wisconsin women's golf team shot a 327 on Sunday during the final round of the 14-team Indiana Invitational to finish tied for sixth with a 312-313-327'952. Katie Connelly was the top Badger finisher, shooting a final-round 1-under-par 73 on the par-74 Indiana University Golf Course to finish tied for second at 76-76-73'225. It was the junior's fourth top-five finish of the season.
Michigan placed four individuals in the top-20 to help it pass second-round leader Indiana down the stretch with a tournament-low 301 in the final round to grab the team title at 919. Indiana shot a final-round 313 to take second at 921, followed by Illinois at 923. Emily Bastel of Michigan State fired a final-round 4-under-par 70 to successfully defend her individual title.
Malinda Johnson followed rounds of 77 and 76 on Saturday with an 84 to finish tied for 23rd. Emily Hendricks (T45, 80-79-85'244), Heidi Njoes (T61, 79-82-88'249) and Carli Gregorin (T70, 85-83-86'262) also contributed for the Badgers.
Freshman Andrea Nelson posted an 86-91-85'262 to tie for 78th competing as an individual.
The Badgers travel to Iowa City, Iowa, next weekend for the Hawkeye Invitational.
